Even health and beauty products like soap contain toxic chemicals like triclosan. While our liver and kidneys do a pretty good job at flushing toxins, you should consider the following tips to cleanse and detox your body.

With roughly three in four Americans suffering from chronic dehydration, you should drink plenty of water to help rid your body of toxins and waste. Drinking water flushes toxins from your body by moving them through the urinary and digestive systems. Unfortunately, though, far too many people drink inadequate amounts of water for proper hydration.

In addition to water, consider drinking vinegar to further detoxify your body. Adding 1 tablespoon of organic, unfiltered apple cider vinegar to a glass of distilled water creates the perfect detox beverage. Apple cider vinegar features acetic acid that’s able to neutralize a variety of toxins as well as illness-causing bacteria and viruses. The only downside is the taste, which some people find unpleasant to say the least.

When shopping for groceries, try choosing located sources fruits and vegetables. You can expect to pay more for locally sourced produced, but it’s usually better for your health because it contains lower levels of pesticides and other harmful chemicals. Check to see if there’s a local farmers’ market in your area. And if so, shop here instead of a national chain grocery store.

    #4) Exercise

Exercise can also help to detoxify your body. Whether it’s running, cycling or lifting weights, exercise speeds up your metabolism, encouraging faster removal of toxins. According to the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), adults should get at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic exercise or 75 minutes of high-intensity aerobic exercise per week.

#5) Cut Back on Processed Foods

Finally, consider cutting back on processed foods. The more natural a food, the better. When foods are altered from their original, natural form, they are often filled with toxins and other potentially harmful chemicals. Whether it’s bacon, sausage, candy bars or cakes, you should reduce your intake of processed foods.
